Report: Liverpool want three players from Premier League club after being 'hugely impressed' by trio

Liverpool are tracking Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and Illan Meslier, according to Football Insider, after club scouts were impressed by the trio.

It's no big secret that Raphinha is a target for Liverpool although it does also seem obvious that the Reds were priced out of any move they had planned for him in the summer.

In his debut season for Leeds United, the Brazilian scored 8 goals and assisted 11 and would have cost a fortune but a deal to sign him never materialised.

Phillips would be an interesting option especially after losing Gini Wijnaldum to PSG but the new name linked with Liverpool is Illan Meslier and it's one that I'm almost confused by.

The Reds do not need a goalkeeper as Alisson Becker is simply outstanding and his no.2, Caoimhin Kelleher is arguably one of the best in the Premier League.

Meslier is a fantastic shot-stopper but he's not someone that the Reds need to be tracking too much as he won't be needed for the next six or seven years at the least.

Liverpool don't need to be tracking goalkeepers

Alisson is only 29 and that's quite young for a goalkeeper as they tend to play well into their 30s and so we should be seeing a lot of the Brazilian.

While Mohamed Salah has been Liverpool's shining light so far this season with his goals and assists, Alisson has quietly been one of Jurgen Klopp's best players.

The former AS Roma star is a very humble player and never asks for praise or seeks the limelight or does anything ridiculous to play himself into the headlines but he has been so important at big moments this season.

It's become a trademark of Alisson's to have a quiet game only to make a huge save in the last 10 minutes of a game to save the Reds from dropping points and he's going to be a major miss against Watford but hopefully Kelleher can step up and show why he's no.2 ahead of Adrian.
