Liverpool to field the same starting XI that beat Leipzig when they face Wolves

Liverpool will field the same starting XI that triumphed over RB Leipzig in the Champions League when they face Wolves, according to a source close to Anfield Central.

The Reds won 2-0 in Budapest, winning the tie 4-0 on aggregate to progress to the last 8.

Fabinho returned to the middle of the park after a spell on the sidelines that was preceded by a stint at centre-back. His presence in midfield alongside Thiago and Gini Wijnaldum was a throwback to the Liverpool we have grown accustomed to over the last two years.

In their previous game, however, the Reds were bested by Scott Parker's Fulham but as the season's end grows closer, Jurgen Klopp's men cannot afford to drop any more points if they are to qualify for next season's Champions League tournament.

A win at Molineux could see the Merseysiders move to within five points of the top four and with 10 games remaining this term, it would mean they stand a chance of qualifying for Europe's most prestigious competition for a fifth straight year.

Being able to offer Champions League football to new signings is a massive pull and with both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez sure to return to action next season, Liverpool will most certainly be challenging for the Premier League title again.

With Fabinho offering stability in midfield and Thiago looking far more confident without being shackled by his defensive duties, the Reds stand a good chance of winning against Wolves.

XI to face Wolves: Alisson, Robertson, Kabak, Philipps, Trent, Fabinho, Thiago, Wijnaldum, Mane, Jota, Salah.
