Liverpool tipped to sign €75million attacker that's expected to "dominate world football in the coming years"
Michael Rummenigge has backed Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland in 2022 due to Barcelona and Real Madrid's financial issues.
In an interview with Sport1 in the build-up to the DFL-Supercup clash between Bayern Munich and Dortmund, he suggested Haaland could move to Liverpool.
After being asked if Mbappe and Haaland could rise to the top and "dominate world football in the coming years", he responded.
“Yes. They [Haaland and Mbappé] could get there. We’ll have to wait and see where he goes after this season,” Rummenigge said.
“Real and Barca have financial problems so I could imagine him moving to England. His father used to play there too. I could well imagine Liverpool for Haaland.”
Liverpool would be incredible with a forward like Erling Haaland and it makes me wonder if the Norwegian was created by Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders in a lab.
His athleticism, clinical finishing and mentality have seen him rise to the top in rapid fashion and it won't be surprising to see him stay there.
Much like Rummenigge agreed with, Haaland will likely be one of the best attackers in the world for the next decade and I'll be shocked if he never wins the Balon d'Or.
Last season, he scored 41 goals and got 3 assists and already has 5 goals and 3 assist this term.
A front three of Sadio Mane, Haaland and Mo Salah would be able to rival Neymar, Mbappe and Lionel Messi it would be that good.
Liverpool are already so good but if you add another player capable of scoring over 30 goals per season, Jurgen Klopp could genuinely win a treble with the Reds.
Haaland's €75million release clause kicks in next summer and Liverpool would be silly not to trigger it.
