Liverpool have been tipped to make a "great signing" by bringing Jude Bellingham to Anfield amid strong links.

Reports far and wide have linked Jurgen Klopp with a sensational deal to sign the 19-year-old and it's not unrealistic to imagine him in Red.

Bellingham has been a wonderful player to watch over the last two years and it's crazy to think he's still a teenager.

Already an experienced member of the Dortmund side, the Englishman is developing into a midfield monster and I've even seen comparisons online to Steven Gerrard.

It's a bold claim to make but there are similarities to be spotted between the two including their frame, tenacity in midfield and their meteoric rises during their youth.

Yet, Bellingham has a long way to go to fully earn comparisons to the greatest Premier League midfielder of all time.

Speaking to SportsKeeda, Paul Merson has tipped the Reds to make a fine addition to their ranks by signing Bellingham.

He said: “I think Liverpool are crying out for a midfield player. I don’t think their midfield is strong enough.

“Jude Bellingham is a good player, and I think he would be a great signing.

“Liverpool are currently relying solely on their full-backs for energy. Thiago’s not a box-to-box midfielder, and Jordan Henderson is another year older.

“They need legs in midfield, and Jude Bellingham could be that box-to-box presence for the side.”

Liverpool need midfield reinforcements this summer if they hope to avoid the early-to-mid-season slump that we witnessed last season due to midfielder injuries, suspensions and illness.

That said, it seems very unlikely that Bellingham will join Liverpool this summer with a deal tipped to be agreed ahead of the 2023 summer transfer window.
