Mohamed Salah has been backed to emulate the output of the elite forwards in Europe well into his mid-thirties at Liverpool.

The Egyptian put pen to paper on a new long-term deal that would keep him at Anfield until 2025.

He’s been tipped to continue the high-scoring output that has seen him win three Golden Boots in five seasons in the Premier League.

The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have all managed to maintain their high-scoring outputs as well as even managing to improve on them.

Creative Improvement

Whoscored are backing the 30-year-old to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Benzema, Lewandowski and Ronaldo who have all managed to continue scoring into their mid-thirties.

Raj Chohan of the PremLeaguePanel broke down Salah’s improvements from a creative standpoint from last season: "He’s obviously a phenomenal goalscorer, he’s showed that throughout his time but I think we’ve seen an upwards trajectory in other parts of his game.

“For example, last season he was the top assist maker in the Premier League, he’s gone up a level in terms of his creative ability.

“I think even after AFCON where his performances definitely dipped and he was fatigued, we saw his creative side come into the fall especially against Villarreal in the semi-finals of the Champions League assisting two goals in that tie.

“He’s adding new facets to his game and he’s definitely on that upwards trajectory.”

Salah's Physicality and Mentality

He also spoke about Salah’s physicality and mentality with the forward being ‘in the mould’ of the other top strikers in Europe.

He continued: “I think with Salah, there’s something about his physical shape and his mentality which is why I think he’s in that (Karim) Benzema, (Robert) Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo kind of mould where he will keep on going into his mid-thirties at a top-level.

“There’s that hunger about him, he always talks about individual records and also team trophies, I think he’s got that in him to carry on.”

Salah has been involved in the third most goals in Europe since signing for Liverpool, bettered only by Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.
