After Fabrizio Romano reported that Liverpool "will contact" Sadio Mane's agents over a new contract, Christian Falk claims his representatives are already "in talks" with Bayern Munich.

The former Southampton star missed out on a return to St. Mary's on Tuesday. Jurgen Klopp rested him for the 2-1 win after he played 120 minutes against Chelsea.

The Senegal star missed a penalty in the shootout at Wembley but it was not costly as Kostas Tsimikas slotted his spot-kick after Mason Mount's was saved by Alisson Becker.

It was a minor blip on Sadio Mane's 2022 CV which saw him win the AFCON, win the World Cup playoff against Egypt and lift both the League Cup and FA Cup.

There have been calls for him to be considered as a candidate for the 2022 Balon D'Or and while it seems as though Karim Benzema is the favourite for his heroic Champions League displays this year, Liverpool seem desperate to hold onto their Senegalese King.

A report from 90Min revealed earlier this month that Liverpool will make a contract offer to Mane with the forward set to demand £300,000 per week.

Both Bayern stars have reportedly refused new deals at the Allianz Arena and could leave the club this summer but it would come as a surprise if they replaced either with Mane.

He's still a key member of the Liverpool starting XI and his track record in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign speaks to his importance to Klopp's plans.

12 goals since the turn of the year is a fantastic return but the number of goals he has scored doesn't fully paint the picture for a player that has been transformed in the false nine role.

He should be a key figure in the final game of the Premier League season against Wolves before he travels with the squad to Paris for the Champions League against Real Madrid.
