LFC ready to bid for €50m gem + price set for EURO star + talks planned for duo – Thursday roundup

In today’s round-up, Luis Suarez makes a Liverpool claim, Hlozek’s price is set, Mbappe makes transfer request and Donyell Malen interest is confirmed.

Suarez says he couldn’t play for another English club

Luis Suarez has revealed that Liverpool is the only English club he would consider playing for and that it “would be strange” to play for another side.

While speaking to World Soccer Magazine, Suarez was asked if he’d return to the Premier League and if he’d consider playing for anyone other than Liverpool.

He replied: “Playing for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard.

“I had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.”

Liverpool must pay €18million to sign Hlozek

Nico Shira reports that Sparta Prague want €18million for Adam Hlozek after he scored 15 goals and got 9 assists this season.

He’s blessed with a thunderbolt of a right foot but seems able to operate to a similar degree on his left. This two-footedness is valuable in a young player as many up and coming strikers are too dependant on their strong foot.

Signing a forward like Adam Hlozek is exciting but he doesn’t immediately answer the issues that Liverpool have. They’re in need of a forward that can get them back to the challenging for the Premier League title and unfortunately, Hlozek is not that man.

Liverpool receive Mbappe boost

RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo, as quoted by Marca, claims Kylian Mbappe has asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain which means they have a decision to make.

The 22-year-old has just over 12 months remaining on his contract in Paris and should he refuse to extend it any longer, the Parisians will be left with two choices and neither of them are pleasing to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The Ligue 1 giants can either sell him this summer or keep him for one final season and let him leave for free in the summer of 2022. The latter would be a catastrophic situation given they signed him for £180m (£165.7m) in 2017, according to BBC Sport.

Statement of defeat from CEO regarding Berardi

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, as cited and translated by Inside Futbol, Carnevali said: “I cannot promise that Berardi will stay. It is not a question of money.”

At the weekend, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that financial repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic mean that Italian clubs cannot afford to sign Berardi and so his Premier League suitors are the favourites to land him.

They claim that Leicester City, Tottenham and Liverpool are keeping an eye on the winger with Sassuolo valuing the 26-year-old at €50million – a price that is reportedly out of the realms of possibility for Serie A teams.

The Reds are yet to bid for the winger but are ready to do so if the opportunity presents itself.

Liverpool plan talks for Malen and Gravenberch

Liverpool are interested in Donyell Malen but are yet to open talks with PSV Eindhoven and the Dutchman is one of two Mino Raiola clients of interest.

Malen is a target for Liverpool, that much is true, and while the club contacted PSV previously to enquire about his contractual situation and their willingness to sell, they have yet to open formal talks with the Eredivisie outfit.

Liverpool will explore the possibility of negotiating a Naby Keita style deal to sign Gravenberch but it’s expected that Ajax will want to avoid agreeing on a fee until next summer.

This is because the player’s value, which Transfermarkt claims is already €33m (£29.7m), will only increase over the next year.
