Liverpool reject fresh bid for £42.5million star - Julian Ward tells club to "make a serious bid"

Liverpool have rejected a fresh offer for Sadio Mane as they add-ons are unacceptable, according to Paul Joyce.

The Senegal superstar wants to relocate to Munich to join Bayern as he seeks for a fresh challenge after completing club football with Liverpool.

Mane has won every trophy on offer with Liverpool and with a year left on his contract, he's set to leave this summer if a fee can be agreed.

Joyce writes: "Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich’s latest offer for Sadio Mané which would only reach £30 million should the German club win the Champions League, and the Senegal forward lift the Ballon d’Or, in each of the next three seasons."

Julian Ward is using "£42.5 million as a benchmark figure for negotiations" and has told Bayern there is no point in holding face-to-face talks unless they're ready to make a 'serious' bid.

Liverpool have every right to demand £42.5m (€50m) for Mane as he has been the best left-wing in the Premier League for four years.

This season, with the arrival of Luis Diaz from Porto, he was transitioned into a false nine role which saw his output explode, scoring 12 goals since returning from AFCON.

While Mohamed Salah struggled to perform in the wake of two major international disappointments while also showing all the signs of fatigue, Mane carried the Reds in attack.

Bayern will have to increase their offer or face losing out on Mane.

While negotiations continue regarding a fee for Mane, Liverpool are actively seeking to replace him and Darwin Nunez is the player the Reds want.

While Benfica want £85million for his signature, Liverpool will try to negotiate that price down while being prepared to smash their transfer record.

Virgil van Dijk was signed for £75million so it stands to reason that Liverpool are prepared to pay anywhere between £76m and £85m.
