Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could finally get the chance to sign Ousmane Dembele as they are reportedly lining up a January move to sign the Frenchman.

He was signed by Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for a massive £96m fee and while he has never really lived up to his potential at the Camp Nou, he is still a very talented player.

According to an exclusive story from TEAMtalk, "Liverpool are lining up an offer for Ousmane Dembele in January".

Apparently, Liverpool are looking to upgrade their attacking options and Dembele has been identified by the club's analysts as a player that can improve Jurgen Klopp's front line.

Roberto Firmino has been an unreliable attacking option in the last 18 months and Sadio Mane was poor at times last season as well although the former Southampton star has five goals in nine games for the Reds this season.

While I am thrilled to hear that Liverpool are considering a January move to improve their attacking ranks, I must admit that I am frustrated that it wasn't done in the summer.

Xherdan Shaqiri's move to Lyon materialised late in the window and it meant that Patson Daka and Donyell Malen were missed out on as they had to keep the Premier League's non-homegrown quota in mind when approaching the transfer market.

Liverpool's main issue will be signing Dembele in line with their wage structure as TEAMtalk suggest that want the French attacker to take a pay reduction from his £200,000-a-week contract with Barcelona.

I imagine that will make convincing him to join Liverpool rather tricky but if they offered him an incentivised contract which, much like Roberto Firmino's deal, heavily rewards him for goals and assists, he may be interested in joining the Reds.

It would be a win-win for both parties as Dembele has a worrying injury track record but if he can remain fit and hit a rich vein of form, he would be handsomely rewarded while Liverpool would boast a fantastic forward in top form.
