Liverpool ready to do whatever it takes to sign €40million star - he's unhappy with lack of game time

Liverpool are in no hurry to sign Eduardo Camavinga but El Nacional reports the Reds are prepared to do what it takes to sign the Frenchman.

Even if that means biding their time. Los Blancos only signed him last summer after they agreed to pay Rennes €40million (£34.4m).

However, the teenager is unhappy with his role in the Real Madrid squad as he has made just five starts in La Liga this season and just one in the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti has unsurprisingly preferred the tried and tested trio of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric and with Madrid leading La Liga by four points, it's a decision which seems to be paying off.

Liverpool prepared to bide their time in Eduardo Camavinga pursuit

It would come as a huge surprise if Camavinga left the Santiago Bernabeu after just one season especially as he is still so young.

At 19, you would expect the young midfielder to take his time before calling it quits in the Spanish capital but Liverpool are reportedly ready to wait in the wings, ready to pounce when the opportunity presents itself to sign Camavinga.

According to El Nacional, "Liverpool are in no hurry to close Camavinga" and add that "Real Madrid has no intention of getting rid of him, just a year after signing him, and will not accept any offer.

"But Liverpool are not in a hurry either, and will wait as long as it takes. Klopp is an admirer of the '25', and will not lose sight of his evolution."

Our View: Liverpool must forget Camavinga and move onto other targets

If it's true and Liverpool are still keeping tabs on Camavinga, they'd be better off focusing on realistic targets for the remaining week of the January transfer window and for the summer transfer window.

An attacker, midfielder and right back are needed. The Reds need another versatile forward to come in and provide competition and cover for the front three.

Someone in Raphinha or Christopher Nkunku's mould would be ideal while a midfielder with a strong defensive work rate and progressive passing needs to be on the club's list of priorities.

Additionally, Liverpool need to find a right-sided version of Kostas Tsimikas to come in and provide cover and competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

2 goals and 15 assists from right-back suggest the Scouser doesn't need competition to perform but imagine how good he could be with someone like Benjamin Pavard chomping at the bit to get in the side ahead of him...
