Liverpool must sign £50million ace that is what Keita should have been
Liverpool must sign Yves Bissouma this summer if he wants to increase the skill in his midfield and the Malian is what Naby Keita should have been.
When Keita arrived at Liverpool, it was with high expectations. The former RB Leipzig ace was said to have everything you would want from a player in Jurgen Klopp's engine room but has failed to deliver on a regular basis.
Almost every time he is on the pitch, the Guinean showcases his agility, tight control and impressive tactical intelligence and I would actually argue that there isn't a player at the club better suited to playing for Klopp.
The simple fact of the matter is that isn't fit long enough for these skills to be of use and that's why Bissouma should be a priority for Liverpool this summer.
Not only is the former Lille star industrious, he can break up play as well as Fabinho but also has the ability to dance past defenders and has the goalscoring ability to play further forward as well.
He's the full package in the way that Keita is and has the fitness to last a full season. While we were told that Liverpool have stepped back from signing Bissouma due to Brighton's £50million asking price, that's a good price for a player that is perfect for the Reds.
He's still only 24 and so Liverpool would have him for his prime which would give Klopp the chance to develop him and turn him into a world-class midfielder just as he did with Wijnaldum.
Since joining Brighton, Bissouma has steadily improved and there's no telling how good he could be when surrounded by world-class players like Virgil van Dijk, Thiago and Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool need to make sure they get their recruitment spot on this summer and I think signing Bissouma would be the best way to follow on from signing Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
