Liverpool make offer for attacker pushing for move - £20M bid needed to complete fourth summer signing

Liverpool have reportedly submitted an offer for Real Madrid's Marco Asensio, following months of links.

The Real Madrid forward has pushed to leave Spain following the club's decision to not offer the winger a contract renewal after entering the final year of his deal. He's pushing for an exit after 8 years with the Los Blancos outfit.

This has sparked major interest from clubs abroad such as Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and AC Milan.

According to a story from Super Deporte today from sports journalist, Francesc Gimeno, the Real Madrid star has three offers on the table from Liverpool, AC Milan and Newcastle United.

If the three-time Champions League winner (Sport) decides to leave, then Real Madrid have three targets lined up to bolster their side.

Gimeno claims that Swedish international, Alexander Isak has joined the list of alternatives, along with German star, Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich), and French attacker, Christopher Nkunku.

Furthermore, according to the Spanish news source Cuando, Madrid haven’t made a renewal proposal as of yet and they don't intend on letting Asensio leave for free.

With conflicting reports in the last week, the player and club are currently in limbo over his future and it may just take one of the interested clubs to push for his move for something to give.

Despite rumours of a move, other reports contradict Asensio moving away from the Spanish capital as the sales of Isco, Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale have filled the player with 'optimism'.

With three fringe attackers leaving the club, he may be gifted more game time as a result.

The winger notched 10 goals in La Liga last season as Madrid won the league and Champions League double.

His 10 goals came in an impressive 1,704 minutes as well, at an average of a goal every 170 minutes.
