Liverpool are hoping to re-ignite their strong relationship with RB Leipzig over a potential move for one of their star players.
The Reds have conducted business with the German club before signing Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita in recent years.
Now the rumour mill has suggested a move for an attacking midfielder who lit up with Austrian league with another Red Bull club in RB Salzburg.
There were reports earlier this year from the Football Express that Liverpool were monitoring 21-year-old Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and that a deal could be done later this year.
🎙🚨| Dominik Szoboszlai reacts to speculation about his future:
Szoboszlai: “I have a contract with Leipzig until 2026. I haven't thought about doing anything. If something happens, then it happens. But nothing at all is happening at the moment."

Why are Liverpool monitoring Szoboszlai?
Liverpool are tracking the Hungarian as they see him as a player who could thrive in Jurgen Klopp’s system.
Szoboszlai, 21, rose to prominence in the RB Salzburg team catching the eye with his long-range efforts and his playmaking ability.
That secured him a move to Leipzig, where after an exciting start, he’s struggled with injuries and inconsistency.
Last season saw him score 10 and assist nine in 44 appearances as Leipzig finished fourth, reaching the Europa League semi-finals and winning the DFB-Pokal as well.
Is a move for Szoboszlai possible?
Having joined the German outfit last season, the Reds will have to wait at least another season before moving for the midfielder.
Still only 21, the talented attacking player will get another year to develop in one of Germany’s best footballing sides with plenty of clubs monitoring his progress.
Liverpool boasts a large range of options in midfield having just signed Fabio Carvalho, a player who plays in a similar position.
However, their midfield is ageing and if Klopp has a re-brand in 2023 then Szoboszlai could be a perfect fit for his midfield.
The Reds have already been linked with Jude Bellingham for next season and Liverpool’s current crop of midfielders has already been in question this transfer window.
He could be a midfielder of interest next season especially given Liverpool’s relationship with the club over the years.
