Report: Liverpool have two transfer priorities before Deadline Day amid strong links to £76.2million duo

Liverpool reportedly have two transfer priorities as Deadline Day edges nearer amid strong links to Jeremy Doku and Renato Sanches.

The Daily Express reports that the first priority will be to "ensure the club gets decent money if squad players such as Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri depart the club this summer."

So far, this claim has fallen flat on its face as Liverpool look set to let Shaqiri leave the club for a cut-price as Lyon are in negotiations with the Reds.

A fee as low as €8m could be agreed which would see him move to Ligue 1, with personal terms already in place.

The Express claims that "second on Klopp’s list of priorities will be to replace the likes of Origi and Shaqiri should they indeed leave the Reds."

This actually seems like a reasonable claim as Klopp's squad is already in need of reinforcement and should Shaqiri leave as well as Origi, it will become a major concern.

Georginio Wijnaldum needs to be replaced and signing a new forward is also high on the list of priorities for the Reds after their spluttering form last season.

Who have Liverpool been linked with?

In the early stages of the window, Yves Bissouma was a player that was of serious interest to Liverpool but a £50million price tag, as well as demands from his agent, put an end to that.

Youri Tielemans, Houssem Aouar, Florian Neuhaus and others have also been linked but recently the main no.8s that have in the media with a connection to the Reds have been Renato Sanches and Saul.

Of course, that does not guarantee there is interest from the Reds although we do know that Liverpool are interested in Saul but that may have faded away, however, there is no way of knowing.

Recently, Mundo Deportivo named Anfield as the likeliest destination for Sanches and suggested that Lille will demand €40million (£33.9m) for his signature.

If Liverpool were to sign both, it would cost them in the region of €90m (£76.2m).
