“Liverpool have reached an agreement” with Jules Kounde over a move to Anfield but must now negotiate with Monchi as his €90million release clause is a major issue for the Reds and other interested parties.
El Nacional says “Liverpool willing to pay the Kounde clause”
The report claims that the Reds are “considering putting Koundé’s termination clause on the table in the winter market.”
Liverpool can trigger his €90million release clause which would make Sevilla powerless and force them to release 23-year-old.
Apparently, Klopp wants to act quickly as he “fears” Chelsea and Real Madrid will return for the young defender’s signature and therefore would like to act quickly to ensure his side beats their rivals to Kounde.
So Monchi, Sevilla’s infamous sporting director, must sit down and negotiate to keep him until the summer and Liverpool will then be able to get a discount on Kounde if you believe that the Merseysiders are really looking to sign a new centre-half.
Jordi Alba altercation an example of why Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t be interested
It’s an underrated aspect of their recent success and Pep Guardiola’s triumphs with Man City will likely also have similar links but Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp based their rise to prominence on squad unity and team morale.
However, having egotistical players or allowing bad attitudes or even just poor discipline to creep into the squad can interrupt form and unsettle the flow of a well-performing team which is why Jules Kounde might not be a player Klopp likes.
His altercation with Jordi Alba is an example of this. The Sevilla star was barged into by the Barcelona left-back but Kounde reacted by throwing the ball into Alba’s face.
The theatrical reaction from the 32-year-old Barcelona defender was simply embarrassing but it was still a moment from Kounde that Klopp and other managers would not have liked.
