Liverpool told they can complete blockbuster signing for €70million- agent talks already held for sensation

Liverpool have learned how much it will cost to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco this summer.

The Frenchman is one of the most sought after talents in Europe with Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United and Liverpool all credited with interest by one outlet or another.

The 22-year-old is highly expected to take the biggest step of his career by leaving Monaco this summer and he could follow in Fabinho's footsteps by joining the Reds.

However, if AS, via Paisley Gates, are accurate, it's going to cost Liverpool €70million (£59m) to prise him away from his Ligue 1 owners.

That's considerably more than the £43.7million paid to sign Fabinho in 2018 but if the Brazilian's success under Jurgen Klopp is an indication of what to expect, fans will be excited to see what he can achieve at Anfield.

In recent years, AS Monaco have developed a strong reputation for producing and nurturing world-class talents.

From Fabinho to Bernardo Silva to Kylian Mbappe, it could be that they have another future superstar in their ranks.

Not for long, however, with the overwhelming majority of reports stating that Tchouameni is set to take his leave at the end of the season.

His contract is only set to expire in 2024 but as a 22-year-old French international, Monaco will not struggle to demand as much as €70m (£59m) especially given the clubs interested.

PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United are three of the richest football clubs in the world but the fact that Liverpool are still considered to be favourites to land his signature underlines the incredible work Jurgen Klopp has done since arriving at the club in 2016.

Signing a contract extension will also serve as a tool for Julian Ward to use in negotiations this summer as top talents like Tchouameni will be more inclined to sign with the Reds now that the German manager's long term future is clearer.

Klopp will be at the helm until 2026 and so he could, in theory, coach Tchouameni until he's 26 and entering his prime as a midfielder.

Much like Ibrahima Konate, the no.8 could represent the future of this Liverpool team and help form the spine of an incredible side for years to come.
