It was at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre in Kirkby that Fabio Carvalho completed the final steps of his move to Anfield with an announcement expected soon.

By all accounts, Liverpool and Fulham have completed all the necessary steps to take him from London to Merseyside this summer.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, Carvalho visited the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby "with Fulham's permission" where he agreed personal terms, completed a "second medical" and "met his new manager for the first time."

Klopp will be able to help Carvalho continue developing but it's going to be fascinating to see how he fits into a squad which is already hugely competitive.

11 goals and 8 assists is a great return even if the step up to the Premier League is significant.

The ECHO reports that Mike Gordon, Julian Ward and Michael Edwards were all involved in the talks with Fulham's CEO Alastair Mackintosh and owner Tony Khan.

These talks "have put Liverpool on the cusp of a Carvalho announcement" as both sides wrap up their respective seasons.

Signing him will also be hugely beneficial for Liverpool's squad depth as he will give Klopp more in the way of tweaking the side's tactics on the fly as the German currently doesn't have an attacking option in midfield.

The runs that Carvalho makes from deep are important against sides that set up extremely deep in their own half.

While the movement of the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz is world-class, having a player creating from deep while possessing the ability to ghost into the box unmarked and finish on the move would be an extra feather in Liverpool's cap.
