Jerome Boateng is set to leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer as Dayot Upamecano arrives and Liverpool fans have been debating his suitability to Liverpool.
Sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic has acknowledged that Boateng will not be offered a contract extension beyond this summer, bringing his 10-year spell with the Bavarian club to an end.
Liverpool fans debate whether or not Boateng would be a good signing
A poll from Anfield Watch’s Twitter account shows that the majority of fans wouldn’t want Boateng at the club but has sparked debate.
He's over the hill and far away

I would. Experienced defender, we would get him for free and only need to pay his wages.

I'd take him. Although he wasn't too successful at City he also would have had experience playing in the EPL. He would be valuable. Sort of like when we signed Kolo Toure.

absolutely not, walking error waiting to happen

Why is this even up for debate? He's old as fuck for a CB and waaaaayyyy past his best, there's a reason he's leaving Bayern and they're bringing in Upemecano.

Anfield Central’s take on signing Boateng for free
The German will be a free agent this summer and while Liverpool are in the market for a centre-back or two, the Reds shouldn’t go anywhere near him.
As Kylian Mbappe proved last night, Boateng is nowhere near the required level for a side challenging for major honours. The French forward exposed the once great central defender to guide his side to a 3-2 win at the Allianz Arena.
With Ozan Kabak doing a decent job for Liverpool (he was the only defender to cover himself in glory against Real Madrid), the Reds should be making his loan-move permanent this summer.
Kabak and Ibrahima Konate should be Liverpool’s defensive reinforcements before the start of next season but someone with Boateng’s age and injury history shouldn’t even be mentioned by Michael Edwards to Jurgen Klopp.
