Liverpool confirm four more players will leave the club on June 30th

Liverpool have confirmed that Liam Coyle, Joe Hardy, Abdi Sharif and Jack Walls will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer.

Anfield Central made enquiries and learned that their contracts expire on June 30th just as Georginio Wijnaldum's does.

A statement on the club website reads: "Everybody at the club thanks Liam, Joe, Abdi and Jack for their contributions and wishes them the best of luck in their future careers."

This summer is an important one for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to guide his side back to the top of the Premier League and by signing Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, he has already bolstered his side massively.

Without context, having Virgil van Dijk, Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Nat Phillips does seem like overkill but following a season in which every player that played at centre back suffered at least one injury, it's just enough.

Liverpool went from winning the Premier League on 99 points to finishing in third place with just 69 points - a swing of 30 points and in order to get back on par with Manchester City, they need to be able to get their goals conceded back below 35.

Liverpool are fully expected to return to the top of the English football pyramid and while Konate is a fantastic player, it's van Dijk who will likely be the star in the Reds' redemption story next term.

The former Southampton star took the brave decision to rule himself out of the EUROs this summer to focus on getting himself into peak condition for the start of the season and with a full pre-season under his belt, he should be able to return strong.
