Liverpool completing double poach on Manchester United targets would be a masterstroke : Total outlay worth £121M

Liverpool are should attempt a double swoop on two Manchester United targets with a potential outlay worth £119million. Reports have stated the Reds want Ajax Antony winger and they should add Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie De Jong, to their transfer list.

Manchester United hold long-term interest in Antony and Frenkie de Jong

Since Erik ten Hag was first linked with taking over as Manchester United manager, the Red Devils were also linked with current Ajax star, Antony, and former de Joden midfielder, Frenkie de Jong.

United football director John Murtough has been negotiating with Barcelona for 70 days with a deal yet to be agreed. Chelsea are sniffing around the negotiations now and so should Liverpool.

According to various reports, Liverpool have made an approach for Antony but are unwilling to pay the £59M demanded by Ajax.

Antony could be the right-sided version of Luis Diaz for Jurgen Klopp if signed. His dribbling and ability to wreak havoc in the final third would further enhance the German's attacking options.

A previous report from UOL Esporte states that the Anfield outfit devised plans on how to “advance the conversations for Antony” but his price tag seems to be an issue.

Liverpool should sign De Jong and Antony

If Liverpool want to take their squad up a further notch and essentially future-proof the side for years to come, this would be the way to do it.

Mohamed Salah has signed a three-year contract keeping him at the club until 2025 but he will need someone to succeed him as the Reds' right-winger.

Antony is the perfect player to do so.

Liverpool have been very heavily linked with a move to sign Jude Bellingham but with his price tag hugely prohibitive and Dortmund not willing to sell until 2023, an alternative solution could provide Jurgen Klopp with the chance to assemble an otherworldly team.

United have reportedly agreed a £63M fee for de Jong and so a combined move for the two Erik ten Hag targets would cost a total of £121M.
