Ibrahima Konate has been pictured working hard during his off-season to get ready for his move to Liverpool.

Liverpool sealed a move to sign Konate from RB Leipzig on the 28th of May.

Upon signing he told the club's official website: “It’s a really exciting moment for me and my family and I am really looking forward to meeting my new teammates, the staff and getting started on this new chapter."

The deal will cost Liverpool £54.2m over the next five years as the Reds will pay Konate £70,000/week and 18.2m over the course of his contract.

Leipzig were paid £36million after the Bundesliga side refused to allow Liverpool to pay his release clause in instalments and he is now working hard to get in shape for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Liverpool are signing one of the most exciting defenders in the world, with RBL coaching staff of the belief he will one day be the best in his position.

The club's future is bright as their backline will one day feature Konate, Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold but Joe will first need to overcome his tendency to suffer serious injuries.

As things stand, Konate will partner Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence when Norwich City visit Anfield on the opening day of the season.

My excitement to see Konate in action for Liverpool is only out-weighed by my desire to see Virgil van Dijk return to the pitch after his anterior cruciate ligament rupture in October.
