Klopp wants Bayern Munich's £54m rated winger - 2 time PL champion would be perfect for Liverpool

Liverpool could be about to target a former two-time Premier League champion to bolster their attacking line ahead of the new season.

The latest reports have linked Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane as a potential signing for the Reds.

Sane, 26, has won two Bundesliga and two Premier League titles and is a regular in the German national team.

The winger has never fully settled in Bayern and Liverpool could offer a way out for the former Manchester City star.

Latest reports on Sane

The latest reports from Nacional claim the German manager has no doubt that the Bayern Munich star would be an extraordinary reinforcement. He wants Liverpool to submit a bid as soon as possible to sign him.

The Catalan news source has mentioned that the arrival of a versatile winger like Sadio Mane could impact Sane’s playing time at the Allianz and he is seriously considering the option of leaving the Bundesliga.

Despite the fact that the Bundesliga champions lost Robert Lewandowski this summer with Mane seen as a replacement in the central role given he played there for Liverpool for the second half of the season.

Reports claim a bid of around 55 million euros (£46million) would be needed given the forward is contracted until 2025.

Has he performed or underperformed at Bayern?

The majority of fans would like to call his time at Bayern underwhelming, but the forward has produced 25 goals and 27 assists in 90 games for the German side.

Despite winning trophies, the Germans have fallen at the quarter-final stage two years in a row and only won the league title last season.

Although, that hasn't stopped Sane from producing two seasons of high-quality output with 24 G/A's in 2020/21 and then 29 G/A's last season proving the forward is still of a very high level.

Sane does get regular game-time and with a World Cup on the horizon, it makes sense he would stay in his home nation rather than moving out back to England to play second fiddle to Luis Dias and Mohamed Salah.
