Jurgen Klopp will regret allowing Premier League rivals to sign £23million attacker unchallenged
Leicester City have confirmed the capture of Patson Daka and the British media is reporting they have paid £23m to sign him from RB Salzburg.
Upon signing for the Foxes, Daka said: “I’m so, so excited to be able to be part of this great, historic club.
“I’m looking forward to what’s coming next so much. I can’t believe it right now that I’m already wearing this great shirt… I feel like I’m already on the pitch from here!
“I can’t wait and it means so much to me to be honest. I’m just so happy. My dream has come true today.”
While it's disappointing that he hasn't joined Liverpool, it's great to see another exciting African move to the Premier League and he seems destined to make a major impact.
For RB Salzburg this season, he scored 34 goals and assisted 12 times. He's described as the perfect player to succeed Jamie Vardy as he is blessed with terrifying pace and has a clinical finish.
I've learned never to doubt Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards but I believe not doing more to sign Daka will be a regret in the future.
We've seen what Sadio Mane has accomplished since he left RB Salzburg and we know what Erling Haaland is set to become after he left Austria.
Even Naby Keita has the chance to become a world-class player if he can overcome his injury woes and it seems that Daka's career trajectory is only going up from here.
He would have been perfect for Liverpool and if the Reds do want to sign him in the future, you best believe that Leicester will demand two or three times the reported £23millon they paid to sign him.
