Report: Jurgen Klopp held multiple phone calls with €36.9million ace and his agents about a move to Anfield
Fellow fansite the Liverpool Transfer Room held an interview with Florian Plettenberg about the Reds interest in Florian Neuhaus.
He revealed to them: "[The transfer is] not likely this window. There were calls between [Jurgen] Klopp and [Florian] Neuhaus' management.
"Klopp is a massive fan. Neuhaus is also aware of Liverpool's interest. It’s likely that he will stay in Gladbach this summer and next summer there could be talks with Liverpool as well as FC Bayern again.
"Klopp wants him but right now there are too many players for the central midfield in the squad of Liverpool."
I'm personally not the biggest fan of Neuhaus so I'm not terribly disappointed about missing out on him but that said, as the summer slowly ends, signing the German would be better than nothing.
Jurgen Klopp has also proven us wrong several times in the past and if he truly is a massive fan of the 24-year-old's, then who am I to judge?
Transfermarkt values the Borussia Monchengladbach star at €36.9million which is an affordable fee but I can't be the only fan that would much rather see Liverpool go for Saul.
Saul is more experienced, will take Liverpool to the next level and ensures that any injuries to the likes of Thiago will go unnoticed.
That said, Atletico Madrid want a larger transfer fee and the player himself will demand much higher wages.
With just under a month to go until the transfer window slams shut, it's going to be exciting to see who Liverpool eventually sign.
