Ismaila Sarr is on Liverpool's "watchlist"
The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are considering 23-year-old Ismaila Sarr as a replacement for Divock Origi if he leaves this month.
Jurgen Klopp's squad is likely to remain the way it is in the final days of the transfer window but minor changes could take place if the likes of Loris Karius, Nat Phillips or Divock Origi leave the club.
They claim that Ismaila Sarr has featured on Liverpool's "watchlist" recently and should he leave, the Reds could swoop for Watford's star man.
This is interesting as last week Transfer Market Web claimed the Anfield outfit was preparing a bid worth £40million (€46.9m) to bring Sadio Mane's countryman to Merseyside.
After Xherdan Shaqiri officially joined Lyon, there is room in the squad to sign a non-homegrown player but signing an African attacker may be unwise given that Liverpool are already forced to release Mo Salah and Mane for AFCON in the New Year.
Naby Keita will also head to the tournament but if Liverpool were to release a third forward and a fourth player in total, that could have a catastrophic effect on their season.
Of course, it's too soon to worry about what might happen months from now but Liverpool need to prepare for what's to come.
With a week to go until Deadline Day, the chances of FSG making a signing for Klopp now seem slim but at least the squad seems to be in a good place.
There is incredible depth at the back, decent enough depth in the middle of the park but my only worry is what happens if one of the front three misses a couple of months with an injury.
