"He's got the wow factor": Scout raves about exciting Liverpool attacker

Przemek Soczynski, a UK-based scout for the Polish FA, told the Athletic that 17-year-old Liverpool forward Mateusz Musialowski has the 'wow factor' and fans should be excited.

Harvey Elliott is the club's undisputed top young talent and having directly contributed to 16 goals in the Championship at the age of 17, it doesn't seem like that is going to change anytime soon.

There is one other player that is making waves at Liverpool, however, and his name is Mateusz Musialowski. The young attacker has 7 goals and 2 assists for the U18s.

The Athletic reports that Fabinho was taken by surprise by the Pole during a training match at the Kirkby Training Facility last week. This ball-carrying ability transcends the youth team and is clearly a match for the players in the club's first-team.

The teenager nutmegged his experienced Brazilian teammate, making a strong impression on the senior players in attendance and further enhancing a reputation that already proceeds him despite his tender age.

The Polish star has a slippery style of play, with defensive players finding it hard to bully him as he just slides away from challenges.

“We don’t have many players like him who are fearless on the pitch and can dribble past two or three players. He’s not a player Polish people are used to. He’s got the wow factor,” Przemek Soczynski, a UK-based scout for the Polish FA, told The Athletic.

Musialowski seems to the latest in a long line of exciting young stars in the club's vaunted Academy but he needs to take note of the likes of Bobby Duncan, Dominic Solanke and now, to a lesser extent, Rhian Brewster.

When he eventually gets his big break, the youngster needs to take his chance and deliver as consistently as possible to match the hype he is generating. Likewise, Liverpool need to make sure they manage expectations by not increasing the hype unnecessarily.
