Former Liverpool player Glen Johnson has tipped a current Premier League and England star for a move to Anfield.
Johnson, who enjoyed a six-year spell on Merseyside, believes the player would ‘suit Liverpool perfectly’.
The Reds have already conducted their business this summer, but the signings of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey suggest Liverpool are signing players for the future.
With such a good crop of young players, they could go for Arsenal’s Buakyo Saka, in what would be a sensational move.
Glen Johnson’s comments on Saka
The former player turned pundit gave his opinion on who he’d like to see his former club sign – revealing Saka as his pick, who would be the perfect long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah:
“I’d like to see Bukayo Saka go to Liverpool. He’d suit Liverpool perfectly,” he told The Games Cabin, as quoted by Football London.
“But he’s playing well for Arsenal, and he clearly enjoys being there. He’s obviously a good lad, and you can see that from the way he interacts with other players.
“He’s still super young so maybe a few more years at Arsenal would work too. As long as he continues to stamp his authority there, then the big teams are still going to want to sign him.”

Saka’s Contract Talks
Currently, the 20-year-old is still negotiating a new contract deal with Arsenal.
It seems increasingly likely he will sign a new deal, despite the time taken to get the deal over the line.
Saka has featured 131 times for Arsenal since making his debut and scoring an impressive 23 goals and assisting 29 times.
He’s one of the best young players in the Premier League and his style of play on the right wing is not too dissimilar from that of Salah – a player he could one day replace.
🏴 Edu on how Saka’s contract talks are going:
🗣 “Good, very good. Everybody is happy.”
