"He has to leave" - €235,000/week phenom told to join a Liverpool - "Time is running out"

Harry Kane needs to be at a club like Liverpool or one of the Manchester outfits at this stage in his career, says Optus Sport pundit Thomas Sorensen.

The biggest criticism levelled at the English forward is that he has wasted his incredible goalscoring talent with Spurs.

Already 28, the striker has scored 248 goals in his career but is yet to win a single trophy and is unlikely to ever do so with Tottenham.

Speaking on Optus Sport, Sorensen believes that the Spurs no.10 needs to leave Tottenham to win major honours and has name-dropped Liverpool.

“He also knows he is at a stage of his career, his peak, where if he needs to win things, he has to leave Spurs,” he said.

“They are not going to win anything – maybe potentially the League Cup – for the next couple of years at least. His time is running out.

“He needs to be at a Manchester City, at a top European club, Liverpool, Manchester United potentially, who are on the up. Not Spurs.

“He has done his bit for Spurs, been there through the bad times as well.

“He has shown loyalty, been a club person, and you have to show some loyalty in return if the money comes in. That is too big an offer.”

The Englishman reportedly earns €235,000 per week (£200,000) which wouldn't be out of the realm out of the possibility at Anfield but they would never pay his transfer fee.

While Liverpool would never spend that kind of money under the current ownership or transfer model, Kane would take the Reds from having arguably the best starting XI in England to the undisputed best side in the Premier League.

That's the worry from Liverpool supporters watching on from afar as Man City potentially add £227.5m worth of attacking talent in Grealish and Kane to an attacking side that topped the scoring charts last season.

Before you even entertain the FFP conversation, it's scary just to think that Manchester City walked the league title race last season, won by 12 points and have now reinforced an attack that scored 11 goals more than Manchester United in second place.

The good news for Liverpool is that the last time they had this group fully fit - bar Andy Robertson, who will miss a few weeks with an ankle injury - they won the Premier League on 99 points.
