Football legend hails former Liverpool star as an 'inspiration' in touching message

One of Football's modern legends of the game has praised former Liverpool star, Sadio Mane, on Instagram.

Dani Alves the former Barcelona, PSG, Juventus and Sevilla right-back is considered the best right-back in history - alongside fellow defender and countryman Cafu.

After all, Alves is the most decorated player of all time with 46 titles for club and country.

The touching message was heart-warming towards former Red Sadio Mane, who has helped to conduct and fund numerous charity projects in Africa.

Alves' message

Alves, 39, has just left Barcelona to play in another new country in Mexico for Club Universidad Nacional, A.C., commonly referred to as UNAM.

The message was short and sweet but it wasn't reflecting his achievements on the pitch but off it:

"Congratulations brother. You are an amazing inspiration to people. We want more people like you in this life. Respect! It's not about football but legacy"

His charity work in Africa has been incredible; in 2019, Mané donated £250,000 ($319,103, €284,813) to build a school in his home town of Bambali, Senegal.

His famous quote was "Why would I want 10 Ferraris? How would that help me or the world?"

Furthermore, in 2021, he donated £500,000 ($638,207, €561,987) towards the construction of a hospital in Bambali.

Not just a top player but an incredibly generous person who can hopefully inspire others of similar wealth to do the same.
