Five Liverpool players ruled out of Fulham clash - How Jurgen Klopp can field exciting 4-2-4

Liverpool face-off against newly-promoted Fulham on Saturday, but with five players set to miss the clash how can Liverpool line up?

Injuries have occurred over pre-season for Liverpool as their month of pre-season prior to the start of the Premier League pushed the players hard.

Fulham themselves have issues - with manager Marco Silva calling out his side for being 'not ready' with the new season just days away.

The Reds will be hoping for a winning start in London but will have to do it without some notable names.

Liverpool & Fulham team news with predicted XI's

The Reds revealed the extent of their injuries and suspensions on their website - with notable absentees.

Team news for Liverpool is a big topic ahead of the game, especially in terms of goalkeepers given Alisson and Caiohmin Kelleher both missed the Community Shield last week.

Fans will be happy to know first-choice keeper Alisson will be back between the sticks for the opening game.

However, players set to miss out are Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota, Caoimhin Kelleher, and new boy Calvin Ramsay will remain sidelined.

Considering Fulham's manager claimed that his squad "are not ready" fans should know he did mean that he was talking about the size of his squad.

Former Liverpool player turned Fulham hero Harry Wilson will be absent with a knee injury that will keep him out for a few weeks; he will also be joined in the stands by Nathaniel Chalobah.

Although Fulham have just completed the signing of Arsenal keeper and German international Bernd Leno - who could start immediately.

Klopp will likely field a 4-3-3 but it will become a 4-2-4 at times without the ball to press Fulham's back four intensely. One of Thiago or Henderson will join the front three to overload the pitch in the attacking third.

We've also seen Trent Alexander-Arnold very high up the pitch at times in pre-season.

Fulham predicted lineup (4-3-3): Rodak (GK) — Tete, Tosin, Ream, Robinson — Palhinha, Reed, Andreas — De Cordova-Reid, Kebano, Mitrovic.

Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Alisson (GK) - Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Matip, Robertson - Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson - Diaz, Nunez, Salah.
