Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool will submit official bid, Salary now discussed with agent

Fabrizio Romano has now added his voice to the cacophony of journalists reporting on Luis Diaz to Liverpool.

The Colombian has Reds fans very excited right now. He's 25 and so is entering his prime and already has 16 goals and 6 assists this season and so could make this season very special if he can continue that rich vein of form at Anfield.

On Wednesday, multiple Portuguese outlets reported that Liverpool and Diaz both wanted each other despite Tottenham Hotspur lodging an official bid with Porto which led me to believe a move for the forward was possible this month.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has added his voice to the journalists reporting on Liverpool's late bid to sign Diaz and it's only going to make fans even more excited.

The Italian tweeted: "Liverpool will submit an official bid in the coming hours for Luís Diaz - he’s top of LFC scouting list.

"€40m guaranteed plus easy bonuses around €20m plus €5m difficult bonuses. Salary now discussed with agent. Tottenham opening bid was turned down by FC Porto."

It's very easy to overhype a signing purely because he will cost a total of €65million or due to the fact that he's quick and easy on the eye but every clip I see of the Colombian makes me believe that Liverpool truly have a special player on their hands.

It's been a while since the Reds made a signing that instantly got the entire fanbase excited and it could have the same effect on the playing squad.

While the Premier League title race still looks difficult to turn around, momentum is a huge factor and after Manchester City dropped points last weekend which Liverpool took advantage of, Diaz could come in and help Jurgen Klopp's side become title winners again.

The most fascinating aspect of the Diaz capture will be the effect it will have on Sadio Mane and his role within the squad.

Liverpool now have two very, very good left wings but one of them is 25 and the other is nearly 30.

We've been crying out for attacking depth akin to Manchester City's for years and now we finally have it.

Diaz, Mane, Jota, Firmino, Salah, Minamino, Origi and Elliott are very good options and each player give Klopp different options.
