Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool make decision on when to announce exciting new signing - 'negotiation is 100% completed'

Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool have made a decision on when to announce Fabio Carvalho's move to Anfield.

The 19-year-old almost joined the Reds in January but an 11th-hour deal slipped through when there was no time to complete the required paperwork.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal to sign the teenager is "100% completed" and Liverpool have decided to delay announcing his arrival to respect Fulham.

The Italian journalist reports: "Liverpool have decided to announce Fabio Carvalho’s signing in the coming weeks to respect Fulham, their fans and player still focused on Championship.

"The negotiation is 100% completed, as exclusively reported last Thursday. No chance for other clubs to hijack the deal."

Liverpool will pay £5million upfront while Fulham will receive £2.3m in bonuses as well as 20 per cent of any sale should Carvalho leave the Reds down the line.

The player will stay at the club for five years, with his contract set to run until 2027 and so it's exciting to think about the future with his arrival alongside the other talent already at the club.

Klopp already has Trent Alexander-Arnold (23), Ibrahima Konate (23), Caoimhín Kelleher (23), Curtis Jones (21), Harvey Elliott (19) and Kaide Gordon (17) at his disposal.

So adding 19-year-old Fabio Carvalho to the ranks only gives the German's squad more strength to grow in the coming years although, with his contract set to expire in 2024, he currently isn't set to oversee their rise to the top.

That said, if Klopp does leave when his deal expires, at least there is more thought being put into the future of the club compared to when Brendan Rodgers left and the squad left behind was an absolute mess.

Whoever inherits Klopp's team will need to say a major thank you as they likely won't need to oversee an enormous rebuild the way the former Borussia Dortmund boss did.
