Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Luis Diaz from Porto late in the January window as the Reds stole in front of Spurs to agree a €60m deal with the Portuguese outfit.

It has been a whirlwind few days for the Anfield faithful as we've gone from believing that Diaz might be slipping away after reports first indicated that Spurs might be beginning to take the initiative in the transfer race for the Colombian.

From there, things progressed very rapidly as Pipe Sierra first broke the news that the Reds had a 'great offer' for Diaz.

Then, all the most reliable local journalists reported that Diaz would be a Liverpool player soon and that the club was working hard to complete a deal before the end of the window.

"Colombia will travel to Argentina tonight after their game with Peru in Barranquilla."

That medical has yet to take place and so the below image that you have seen floating around on social media isn't a recent image.

It's not fake but it's not a Liverpool medical photograph. It's a photo of Luis Diaz taken 8 months ago on a football show called Mi Seleccion Colombia.

The move is in its advanced stages now and the Reds will pay €45 million (£37.5 million) fee and a further €15 million to follow in add-ons, according to James Pearce and the Athletic.
