€55million sensation will accept Liverpool offer – Report says La Liga star will not turn Reds down again

Eduardo Camavinga rejected Liverpool and several other proposals in the summer but chose Real Madrid but a report from El Nacional says he’s having second thoughts.

The French star joined Los Blancos as part of a deal worth up to €40m (£34.4m) but the 19-year-old is reportedly unhappy in Spain due to a lack of regular starts under Carlo Ancelotti.

He moved to Madrid under the impression he would be a regular but with Real Madrid flying in La Liga as they lead the pack in first place and into the Champions League last 16 with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro in midfield, Camavinga has had to make do with a place on the bench.

It’s a problem that Federico Valverde has also run into and the Uruguayan has also popped up on Liverpool’s radar in recent days as the Merseysiders look for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

According to El Nacional, ‘Liverpool will return to Camavinga’. The Reds wanted the teen star in the summer but he chose Real Madrid over them. Manchester United were keen as well.

The report reads: “It was Liverpool who showed the most interest in getting his services, by order of Jürgen Klopp.

“A proposal that the French international rejected to go to the Spanish capital.

“Now, he wouldn’t dare say ‘no’ to Anfield again. However, they will first have to negotiate with Madrid, which paid €31million for him.

“They would not settle for less than 55 ‘kilos’.”

Camavinga has already shown his class at Real Madrid and while I would be surprised if he left the Santiago Bernabeu, I’d be delighted it meant he moved to Anfield.

After Gini Wijnaldum wasn’t replaced, the Reds need a new midfielder and although they’re different in terms of style and profile, signing the 19-year-old would give Liverpool an entirely different way to approach build-up from central areas.

He’s silky on the ball and has an eye for a pass.

Apart from Thiago, Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have anyone in midfield that can split a defence with a pass which limits their approach play to building up from the flanks.

This means they can be very limited and predictable.

Camavinga would ultimately make the Reds more unpredictable and increase their ability to break down low block defences.
