"There are two better teams than Liverpool": Player predicts Reds' Premier League finish

Ben Foster has boldly claimed that Liverpool will only finish third in the Premier League after losing Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.

He said: “This season, I'm going to go for third. I think there are two better teams than Liverpool this year. Losing Sadio Mané, I think they're in a little bit of a transition period.

“I can’t see them trying to be up there and about trying to win the Premier League, I just can’t. I still think they’ll do decent, third position”.

It's unclear who the second team is as it's certain that Man City will be in the top two but there is no way, in my opinion, that Chelsea and Man Utd will do better than Liverpool.

Arsenal and Spurs won't be above the Reds either.

Liverpool may have lost Mane but Mohamed Salah will likely be back at his scintillating best this season while Darwin Nunez is growing in confidence after scoring four against RB Leipzig.

Luis Diaz is also set to play his first full season for the Reds and with his English improving and his understanding of his role in the front three much greater now, I expect him to explode into life.

Jurgen Klopp has shown consistently that he is able to overcome low expectations for his side and after just missing out on the quadruple, betting against the Reds is a dangerous position to hold.

After Liverpool got 92 points last season, it would be crazy for them to finish third this season especially given that Mane has been well replaced.
