Alisson, Fabinho and Jota set to miss Liverpool's trip to Bramall Lane

A source close to Anfield Central has claimed that Alisson, Fabinho and Jota will all miss the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Sunday evening.

Last week, it was reported that Alisson's father, Jose Becker, had drowned in a lake in Southern Brazil. The goalkeeper will now miss Liverpool's Premier League clash with Sheffield as he and his family grieve their monumental loss.

The horrible news comes shortly after it was made public that manager Jurgen Klopp had been coping with the passing of his mother and due to international travel restrictions, he was unable to attend the funeral.

We reported yesterday that Naby Keita will once again be part of the matchday squad after being included against Everton although now he is set to make an appearance from the bench.

Fabinho will not make the squad and neither will Diogo Jota, who has fallen ill. His untimely setback is really a microcosm of Liverpool's season. So many times, the Reds have had a player return to fitness only to either get re-injured or for another key player to suffer an injury of their own.

Jota, however, will recover at home before training ahead of Chelsea's trip to Anfield on Thursday and while he's unlikely to start due to Klopp's historical insistence that players require some 'match rhythm' before playing in big games, he will most likely be on the bench. Fabinho will also be in the squad.

Liverpool need to get back to winning ways after four straight league defeats if they are to have any hopes of finishing in the top four this season.
