Alisson Becker to miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton

According to sources close to Anfield Central, Alisson Becker is set to miss his 7th game of the season after missing 6 matches due to a hip injury between October and November.

The Premier League champions host Brighton this evening but will not be able to field their Brazilian shot-stopper. While we have been told that Alisson is ill, we have confirmation that he has not returned a positive COVID-19 test.

He simply woke up this morning and told the club that he is not feeling well enough to train or play and so will be absent when Brighton visit Anfield this evening.

Alisson’s absence adds to Liverpool’s woes and means that Klopp could almost make a full starting XI from the world-class players he has missing from action.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and now Alisson mean that the Reds currently have eight top-class players not fit to play and it’s no wonder they have struggled this season.
