£50.6M could be Liverpool's secret transfer target - Reports states contact has been made

Liverpool have made contact with Sporting Lisbon with the view to sign Matheus Nunes.

The midfielder has a £50.6M release clause in his contract but a report from Portugal states Sporting will not open negotiations for a penny below the £33.7M mark.

As the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez and Fabio Vieira have shown, the Portuguese Primeira Liga is producing high-quality players in abundance.

With Journal de Noticias (JN) reporting that Liverpool have made contact with Sporting Lisbon, Nunes could be Jurgen Klopp's 'secret' transfer target.

Before Liverpool were thrashed by Man Utd in their first pre-season friendly of the summer, Klopp let slip that sporting director Julian Ward is working on "some stuff".
