£120k-a-week midfield star is available to leave this summer - at £25m he stands a bargain

Liverpool may need to strengthen in midfield following their recent injury woes - could they look towards Leicester's £25m rated midfielder?

Youri Tielemans has been a standout for Leicester in recent seasons and has just entered the final year of his deal.

He doesn't want to extend meaning the club is ready to part ways with the midfielder for a fee of just £25m.

Given Liverpool's injury situation, and Thiago out for at least six weeks, could Jurgen Klopp move for the Belgian international?

Tielemans' current situation

Tielemans, 25, has entered the final year of his deal and will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement from January or leave in the following summer for free.

Leicester are stuck with a player who wants to leave and they could cash in on the highly experienced midfielder now for a reported fee of £25m.

The £120k-a-week salary shouldn't put any big teams off signing him plus £25m is a bargain given his current value is £50m.

Arsenal have emerged as the main frontrunners for his signature, having tracked him for months, but are yet to make a formal offer.

Why Liverpool should move for Tielemans

The Reds currently have nine players injured, following Naby Keita's recovery this week but it still means they are without Thiago, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

This means the squad is looking very thin in midfield - but Tielemans would offer extreme versatility having played in two and three-man midfield as well as in a 3-4-3 system at international level with Belgium - he's a player with a great football IQ.

His passing range, threat from distance and tenacity make him a great potential Klopp edition - and there's no way that the German manager doesn't improve the FA Cup winner.

Klopp certainly needs a midfielder and if they don't want to pay £50m for Matheus Nunes, then they need look no further than Leicester.
