Mohamed Salah only penned a two-year extension last season following eight years in Merseyside. This definitely looks like the Egyptian’s last stretch at Anfield, and Arne Slot is eager to find a replacement to secure the frontline.
Interestingly, Real Madrid might make a surprise move for the Egyptian King as they’ll be looking forward to signing Salah for free.
Los Blancos already signed Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer despite the latter’s contract expiring at the end of the season; the Spanish giants paid a small fee to get him on board in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.
It won’t come as a surprise that Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso takes Anfield players seriously following the gaffer’s history with the Merseysiders.
Ibrahima Konaté is also on the move as the Frenchman looks confident in moving to the Santiago Bernabéu for the upcoming season.
With a contract expiring at the end of the season, Konaté’s agent was in talks with the Reds management regarding an extension, but unfortunately for Liverpool, the talks have gone cold.
The situation is tumultuous, though, as Arne Slot will be keen on earning a premium off the Frenchman in the winter transfer window.
Salah, on the other hand, is a long-term worry, but the Merseysiders have identified a replacement which might cost them nine figures.

Michael Olise has been given a nine-figure asking price amidst Liverpool interest

Despite Bayern Munich’s eagerness to keep Michael Olise at Allianz Arena, the Bavarians might slip for a huge transfer fee. According to Football Insider, Mohamed Salah’s replacement might cost Liverpool £100m as the German giants aren’t going cheap in negotiations.
It is interesting though, as two weeks ago, Munich were open to letting Olise leave following a £56m move for Nicolas Jackson. Bayern Space on X (formerly Twitter) reported that Director of Sport Max Eberl convinced the management that they could afford Jackson by selling Harry Kane or Michael Olise.
“Max Eberl managed to push the permanent Nicolas Jackson transfer through by assuring Bayern’s supervisory board that no fresh funds would be required next summer.”
“He argued that the money for squad planning would be generated through the sale of high-calibre players, with other clubs expected to trigger the release clauses of names such as Michael Olise and Harry Kane.”

A contract running till 2029 also makes negotiations harder. With more and more clubs eager for the youngster’s signature, Liverpool will have to make a decision soon.
