Latest on Liverpool's request for PGMOL to release VAR audio

Liverpool's request for the official VAR audio for Luis Diaz's disallowed goal is about the be granted, according to a report from the Independent's Miguel Delaney.

While the audio will be made public, it will first be reviewed by Liverpool FC.

The audio will be released after Liverpool released a very strongly worded email after referee Simon Hoopper and VAR failed to create a fair environment for the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou's side was fantastic and the biggest tragedy for both teams is that they were deprived of a real opportunity to go head to head.

The Lily Whites will care little about Liverpool's misfortune but this is an issue that affects every club in the league.

When will the audio be released?

This is unclear by Miguel Delaney confirms that it could happen before PGMOL chief Howard Webb's Mic'd Up show.

Why is there reluctance to share this audio with the public?

It has already been confirmed by the PGMOL that an error was made during the short time in which VAR reviewed Diaz's goal and when they were supposed to communicate the correct call to the on-field officials.

So why would they be reluctant to share the audio? Referees in England have long since shied from accountability and with the hierarchy at Liverpool keen to find the truth, it could be embarrassing or costly for those involved.

Without knowing what scandalous mistakes the audio will yield, it's difficult to answer.

Has the PGMOL edited the audio?

Will the audio the PGMOL are releasing have been edited?

The hope is that it will not be edited in anyway but if Liverpool or independent regulators realise it has been tampered with, the PGMOL will have a much bigger case to answer.

Sky Sports' Melissa Reddy stats Jurgen Klopp's side want "full transparency" and not "bits and pieces" of the audio.

More to follow.
