Dominik Szoboszlai Wants To “Continue” Elite Record In First Season At Liverpool

Dominik Szoboszlai has won a trophy in every single season since debuting as a professional footballer and the Hungarian says he wants to continue this elite track record at Anfield.

Liverpool have signed the 22-year-old from RB Leipzig after triggering his £60M release clause. Szoboszlai signed a five-year contract until 2028.

After signing his contract, Liverpool's media team interviewed him and his ambition has already shone through.

When asked about his targets with the Reds after winning silverware in Austria with RB Salzburg and in Germany with RB Leipzig, the young playmaker responded with composure.

He replied: "Yes, since I’m professional I won something every year – so I want to continue this!"

Szoboszlai has already won nine trophies - at least one per season since 2017/18 when he debuted with Salzburg.

With RB Salzburg, the Hungarian international won the Austrian Cup three times and the Austrian Bundesliga three times. After joining Leipzig, Szoboszlai lifted the DFB Pokal in two consecutive seasons.

Last season, Liverpool were unable to come remotely close to winning silverware but they will be targetting a return to triumphant ways next season.

Szoboszlai seems ready to challenge for silverware already and his presence in the squad will boost confidence ahead of a vital season for the Reds.

Liverpool will be aiming to bounce back from their fifth-placed, trophy-less season and Szoboszlai’s approach is exactly what Klopp’s squad needs to do so.

The Reds almost won the quadruple in 2022 and while their awful form last season means this was not appreciated as much, the new season offers a chance to remind Europe why the Reds should never be discounted.
