Liverpool face Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United on the 19th of October as the Reds get ready for their first clash after the October international break.
The days leading up to the break weren’t consoling as the Merseysiders lost three games in a row following a seven-game winning streak.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are back after a win against Sunderland, but are doing way worse in the English Premier League.
The Red Devils have won only three out of their seven league games, drawing one and losing three in the process. Liverpool recently lost their top spot to Arsenal as the Reds took zero points home from two games out of the seven.
Slot still managed to win five, though and will be hoping to eclipse Arsenal to defend the title. The Dutchman’s wishes will probably lead to fruition as Amorim faces injury concerns on the way to Anfield.

Sky Sports reported that both Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez were missing from the Red Devils’ training session on Thursday.
Mazraoui was part of the XI who faced Chelsea mid-September but has since been unavailable due to an unspecified issue. Recent medical assessments gave Manchester United hopes of a return against Liverpool, but there will be a further delay in the Moroccan’s availability.
Martinez, on the other hand, is recovering from his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury sustained in February. The Red Devils expect the Argentine centre-back to return next week as he’ll not be travelling to Merseyside this weekend.
The training session on Thursday featured multiple academy players. Jacob Devaney, Tyler Fletcher, Shea Lacey, Sam Mather, Bendito Mantato, Reece Munro, Chido Obi and Jim Thwaites were all part of the session, and some might make an appearance for the first team against Slot’s men.

Liverpool’s injury updates
Alisson Becker remains in the hospital following his injury against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League. Giorgi Mamardashvili will probably start again after his appearance against Chelsea.
Ibrahima Konate remains another big concern, as no concrete update has been given regarding the defender. The Frenchman picked up an issue with Chelsea. It was later confirmed that the problem was in his quadriceps (thigh).
Konate did go on to join France during the international break but withdrew abruptly before the clash against Ireland. Giovanni Leoni also won’t be making any comebacks until the next season.
