Liverpool are set for departures this month as they make a decision on two players.
Any incomings have been pretty much ruled out in this January transfer window. The club does not look to be going after potential targets, and are reportedly waiting till the summer. Liverpool boss Arne Slot even added that he is ‘happy’ with the current squad in his comments at the start of January:
“It would be a bit weird if I told you something different than we are happy with team,” he said.
“But we always look at the market. If there’s a chance this club always brings something in. Joe Gomez injury means we go from four centre-backs to three.
“I’m very happy with the team and that is trust from the club.”
The Red’s current priority is to deal with the contract situations of their three big first team names. Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah are yet to agree new deals with the club. This has lead to intense speculation that all three may leave in the summer.

Outside dealing with the contract negotiations of three of their best payers, Liverpool are also bracing themselves for departures this month. Some players have been linked with a move away from Anfield. Especially the young players who have not had a chance to feature in the first team, with how well Liverpool have played this campaign.
Calvin Ramsay has joined Kilmarnock on loan, while Tom Hill is set to join Harrogate till the end of the season. According to James Pearce, Liverpool are working on two more loans in the coming days. Jayden Danns and James McConnell are attracting loan interest from Championship clubs including Stoke, Blackburn and Preston.
Pearce states that ‘a final decision on whether the duo depart on a temporary basis is unlikely to be made until next week’ in The Athletic.
Reds to make difficult call on youngsters
Arne Slot and Liverpool have a decision to make when it comes to Jayden Danns. Even though the forward has played just 19 minutes in the FA Cup, the injury to Diogo Jota has opened the door for some first team minutes. Federico Chiesa only returned to fitness last month, and Darwin Nunez is the only central attacker fit.
Danns could remain at Anfield in the event that one or more first team attackers are unavailable. On the other hand, a loan to the Championship would guarantee consistent minutes for the next five months.
