Liverpool star demands exit

One player is already on his way out of Liverpool.

The club has braced themselves for departures this summer. With Liverpool having set aside a significant amount of funds for transfers, the club is expected to welcome a lot of new faces. The reds could have had more money, but their exit to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League cost them over €70million in prize money.

Liverpool are yet to tie down multiple players long term. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave at the end of the season. The trio are out of contract and are expected to move to new clubs. Liverpool also have future contracts to sort out. Next year, Caomhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson all have their contracts expiring. The reds will hope they do not have a repeat of what has happened this season.

The current situation at the club looks more worrying every week. Heading into the summer, nothing has been done after talks with Salah, Trent and Van Dijk. Ibrahima Konate has also not addressed the contract offer from the club, with interest from around Europe. Caomhin Kelleher will almost certainly leave Anfield when the season ends. The Ireland international has attracted a lot of Premier League interest over the last year. Arne Slot has reportedly made the decision to start Kelleher in the League Cup final this weekend. Winning the trophy would be a great send off for the keeper.

One player who is definitely out of the door this summer is Darwin Nunez. According to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Uruguayan is ready to leave England. After losing his place in the starting lineup this year, Nunez has been relegated to substitute appearances and cup games. Arne Slot has preferred to use Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz up top. The 25-year old has scoring seven and assisting six goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. It was reported that Liverpool blocked an offer from Saudi Arabia in January. Nunez was said to be open to the prospect of a move there.

The report from Sky Switzerland adds that the reds will be looking for a fee around at least €80m (£67m) for the striker. There has been interest in Darwin Nunez in recent months. Serie A clubs will be in the market for the Uruguay international.
