Liverpool plan to ”get rid” of England international

One player at Liverpool is set to receive shock news this summer.

All the reports recently have indicated that the reds are positioned to overhaul the team ahead of next season. Arne Slot will be working with Richard Hughes as they figure out which players to add to the team. Liverpool missed out on the quadruple this season after cup exits to Plymouth, and most recently, Paris Saint-Germain.

The club’s priority this summer remains tying down the long-term futures of first team stars. Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract at the end of the season.

The trio will not be the only ones set to leave the club, as recruitment plans will need investment from sales.

The club are working on brining in a whole host of new faces ahead of next season. However, there are many current first team players on their way out of the door. Aside Salah, Trent and Van Dijk, Liverpool will make decisions on some players. Mainly the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Caomhin Kelleher, whose contracts will expire in 2026. The duo are yet to sign a new deal, and as it stands, the club will be forced to listen to offers this summer. Liverpool will not risk losing either player for free after this season’s events.

Plans are in place to sign a new defender, and a striker according to reports. Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen stands out as the major summer transfer target. According to Football Insider, signing a new defender will have a domino effect on Jarell Quansah. With the new signings rumoured, Liverpool will consider letting the youngster leave on loan ahead of next season according to Mike Brown:

“Liverpool are planning to sign a new centre-back,” he told Football Insider.

“But if they do that, you have to ask questions about where Quansah fits in.

“He’s been their third or fourth choice centre-half for the last couple of years and has come into the side, but that hasn’t happened as much this season.”

The possibility of a loan move has been discussed at Anfield.

“It’s definitely possible that he leaves the club on loan in the summer.

“Liverpool like him and think he’s got a lot of potential so they won’t want to let him leave permanently, so a loan could be best for all parties.

“It will allow him to get more regular game time and potentially come into their first-team plans when he returns.”

Quansah has featured in 21 games in all competitions this season.
