According to Rousing the Kop reporter Zak Anderton, Reds academy graduate Conor Bradley is the next Gareth Bale.
Currently both Bradley and summer signing Jerome Frimfong are fighting for the starting right-back role. Although neither of have been able to lock in the spot. But during the international break, a change in position paid dividends to his national side.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill deployed him in the right wing against Slovakia in the World Cup Qualifiers. Thriving in the position, his linkups with Galbraith gave his country the leading edge.
Trai Hume of Sunderland scored the second goal in a 2-0 win but he described Bradley as “the best player on the pitch by a mile”. Having received a booking which ruled him out against Germany, Northern Ireland severely missed him on the pitch as they lost 0-1 at home.
Justifying comparisons with Bale
Making an outright comparison Anderton added that, “both he and Gareth Bale started out as full-backs, it feels like Liverpool could end up having their own version of the Welshman on their hands in the near future.”
Going by the numbers, Bradley had a stellar night against Slovakia. As per Sofascore, Bradley had 93 touches of the ball, completing 41 percent of all dribble attempts. Although his pass accuracy of 53 percent has room for improvement, he made 11 ball recoveries with three interceptions and two tackles.
