Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in England. The reds have the claim to being the most successful club in the country alongside Manchester United. Over the past few years, the club has revived their global brand. FSG taking over the club lead to partnerships and brand deals with the American market. This has lead to Liverpool collaborating with NBA Superstar LeBron James, and most recently the National Football League (NFL).
The reds have been under contract with Nike over the last few seasons. The American corporation gives Liverpool £30 million per year with bonuses and incentives. As of last year, it has been reported that the Merseyside club have signed a new kit deal with Adidas, worth around £60-65 million. The German manufacturers will replace Nike from the 2025-26 season. This means Liverpool are already guaranteed double the revenue by changing their kit provider.
What does this mean for transfers?
With the new PSR rules, clubs now have to spend around the amount they make. A new bumper £60 million income will allow the club to be more flexible in the transfer market. This season is already looking like a more financially positive one. Liverpool have reportedly earned at least £83.8 million for their efforts in the Champions League according to The Athletic.
The revenue increase will give Liverpool an upper hand in the transfer market this summer. And may even allow the club to retain Salah, Van Dijk and Trent on bumper new long-term contracts.
