Devastating Mo Salah contract update

Liverpool are still waiting to sort out the Mohamed Salah contract situation with the player now just a month or so away from entering the final six months of his contract.

Salah has been one of the most iconic players in the club’s history and is still the most potent attacking weapon in Liverpool’s armoury despite being on the wrong side of the 30s.

He will be out of contract at the end of the season and no agreement is still in place for him to sign a fresh new deal with the Merseyside giants.

His preference is to stay at Liverpool but the club need to offer him a three-year contract compared to the two-year deal they were initially tabling.

However, there are more issues to sort out as the negotiations between Liverpool and Salah’s representatives have been far more smooth compared to the talks with Virgil van Dijk.

The Mohamed Salah contract saga takes a fresh new turn

Salah wants to stay but it doesn’t mean the player is prepared to accept any terms the Reds are offering him.

According to Liverpool insider Max LFC, all has not been well in the negotiations between the player’s camp and the Merseyside giants.

Salah was not happy with the original offer made by the Reds and wants the club to table something more respectable given his current stature.

He would have been happy to sign the new contract on his existing terms but Liverpool’s dilly-dallying tactics have annoyed the player.

Can you name the club Liverpool signed these players from?

Liverpool’s decision to drag the negotiations has made sure that Salah is now exploring his options for leaving the club.

Saudi sides are prepared to throw silly money at him but moving to the Saudi Pro League is not his preferred option.

He believes he still has more to offer in a top league and his representatives are exploring those options in other big European leagues.

Liverpool do not want to lose Salah but there was some solace that even if he left the forward would fly away to Saudi Arabia.

However, losing their top forward to a potential Champions League rival on a free transfer would be a bitter blow for the club if they don’t sort out his new contract sooner.
