Liverpool manager Arne Slot has major injury concerns to address. As many as five players from his squad will likely miss Sunday’s clash against Manchester United.

The clash against United comes at a crucial point in the season. The Reds have lost their three games across all competitions. Two of those have been in the Premier League against Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

Liverpool’s lead of five-points got wiped off due to the defeats. Currently in second place behind Arsenal, a victory at Anfield would get their season back on track.

However several injury concerns can mar their resumption of Premier League action.

Ryan Gravenberch is the latest addition to Reds injured list. The Dutchman was subbed at half-time during his nation’s clash against Finland.

“Ryan indicated he had some minor hamstring problems”, explained Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman. “Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that.”

However Gravenberch himself downplayed the injury. “It was partly fitness related. The season is long, so it was a precaution. I’m feeling good and I have the coach’s confidence.”, he disclosed after the game.

Others also on the table

Giovanni Leoni is the first name on the Liverpool medical list. He suffered an ACL tear in his debut match, thereby ruling him out of action until the end of the season. Alisson Becker and Wataru Endo are the next two names.

Alisson has a hamstring issue sideling him for a few weeks, while Endo pulled out from the Japanese national team due to an undisclosed injury. Ibrahima Konate’s future at Liverpool is in doubt and so is his chances against Manchester. The Frenchman had to leave the field against Chelsea with a thigh issue.

While the Reds will likely be without five players, United coach Ruben Amorim will have a full-unit at hand. Lisandro Martinez is back at training and might get some minutes. Noussair Mazraoui who missed the previous game will also be available for selection.
